I'm Amanda — also known to a lot of you as Mystic Mandi. I own Flickering Fortunes, and I'm the one actually pouring every candle, writing every tarot reading, and packing up every order from my little studio in North Tonawanda, New York.

Flickering Fortunes isn't a warehouse, a factory, or a team behind a brand name. It's me, at my workbench, melting wax and laying out tarot cards. When you place an order, it lands in my inbox — not a fulfillment queue — and I'm the one who makes it for you.
Every candle is hand-poured in small batches. Every tarot reading is personally pulled, written, and sent by me. Nothing here is mass-produced, and nothing is auto-generated. If a candle is sold out, it's because I haven't poured the next batch yet. If a reading takes a day or two, it's because I'm actually sitting with your question.
Why Flickering Fortunes exists
Made slow, with intention.
Flickering Fortunes started in my kitchen, the way most honest things do — late at night, with a candle I'd poured for myself because I couldn't find one that felt like mine. Friends asked for one. Then their friends. Then strangers at craft fairs. Eventually the tarot side of my life grew up alongside the candles, and the two finally moved in together.
I make everything by hand on purpose. A candle marks a moment — a fresh start, a hard week, a quiet evening alone. A tarot reading helps you sit inside it. Both deserve to come from a real person, not a machine.
Hand-poured, in small batches
Every candle is poured by me in my home studio using pure beeswax from local Western New York beekeepers. I render the raw honeycomb and cappings myself 3 to 4 times to get the cleanest, purest wax possible. Cotton wicks, no shortcuts, and slight variations in color and texture are part of the handmade thing.
Custom candles welcome
Any color. Any scent I carry. A figure with a meaning. A favor for a wedding. If you can describe it, message me — I'll tell you honestly if I can pour it.

Every reading is mine — pulled in front of me, written by me, sent to you. No scripts, no AI, no fear-mongering. Just an honest look at what the cards are saying.
